Launched in 2009, we are the second largest telecommunications company in Rwanda, offering GSM, 2G, 3G and 4G as well as mobile financial services under the Tigo brand; We are seeking to fill the position below;

BUSINESS DECISION SUPPORT
JOB PURPOSE:
To support the targeted sales manager and commercial teams understand and pro-actively respond to customer needs through the development of behavioral insights and predictions whilst driving incremental profit, revenue or reduce churn and cost, through rigorous testing and accurate measurement and reporting and ensuring that all customer contacts are timely and relevant.
In terms of results, we are looking for clear targeted sales roadmap implementation and execution that drives growth while maintaining healthy profitability in the Rwanda mobile business unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • To undertake analysis and to produce and communicate data-driven insights, reports, analysis, models, forecasts, etc. on specific matters of relevance
  • Generation of compelling, innovative, and actionable insight in support of the overall commercial agenda on both a pro-active and responsive basis.
  • Develop an ongoing suite of analytical models for understanding, describing, and predicting customer behavior.
  • Support the application of these models into operational campaigns
  • Propose actions to improve campaign targeting through the promotion of campaign sampling and analysis methodologies – for example, the use of analytical models and the design of statistical tests.
  • Contribute to an insights-driven marketing environment that enables more targeted acquisition, development and retention activities.
  • Engage with commercial, sales and marketing teams on appropriate strategy for customer acquisition, retention and marketing spend and for defining and prioritizing requirements that are consistent with a customer centric marketing approach
  • Develop analyses and insights on targeted sales campaigns across all segments in respect of campaign responses and success.
  • Incorporate insights generated from campaign analyses into customer analytical models
  • Assist in the development of customer data requirements specific to the requirements of analytical modelling and campaign analysis.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Understanding to ensure the best consumer & market research is available to assist in strategic commercial decisions.
  • Build with data warehouse strong data marts that support the needs of targeted sales analytics and contribute to the overall DW project as champion from the commercial side.   
  • Collaborate with Consumer Understanding and Pricing teams to create and update conjoint pricing studies and necessary analysis resulting from these.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Business.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a related position in an FMCG 
  • Ability to work with statistical packages such as R, SPSS, SAS.
  •  Mobile telecoms market knowledge and customer understanding: strong understanding of the mobile business, the main products and services, revenue streams, tariffs and offers, customer preferences, etc for Tigo and competitors (Expert level required)
  •  Financial modeling: strong understanding of modeling of costs and revenue associated to offers and pricing alternatives (Advanced level required)
  • Applied statistical analysis and Predictive analytics skills: proven track record in exploiting patterns found in historical and transactional data to identify risks and opportunities using a variety of advanced statistical techniques including modelling, machine learning and data mining. (Advanced level required)
