Tigo Yagaruye promosiyo Ba Miliyoneri



Kuri uyu wa kabiri tariki 18, Tigo Rwanda yagaruye poromosiyo isoza umwaka yitwa “BA MILIYONERI” izajya iha abafatabuguzi amahirwe yo kwegukana amafaranga ashobora kugera kuri miliyoni 26 z’amanyarwanda buri munsi. 

 

 

 

 

Buri munsi, umufatabuguzi umwe azajya atsindira miliyoni imwe y’amafaranga y’u Rwanda (Frw 1,000,000).

Tigo Rwanda launches Digital Changemakers award:



Tigo Rwanda, in partnership with non-profit organization Reach for Change, has launched the fifth edition of the annual ‘Tigo Digital Changemakers Competition’. The competition aims at identifying and supporting four tech entrepreneurs who utilise digital technology to improve society and positively impact future generations. 



After an extensive selection process involving both Tigo and external experts, the winning candidates will each receive a cash prize of Frw 7.5 million as well as access to Reach for Change’s Incubator programme, which includes business training, access to a global network of other social entrepreneurs and much more. The application period for the competition is now officially open and will close on 15, November, 2016.

Speaking at the launch, Tigo General Manager, Philip Amoateng said: “We recognize the potential that technology has to solve issues of development.  We are looking for a tech entrepreneurs who use digital tools and technology to better the lives of Rwandans in a meaningful way.  At Tigo we are committed to providing the opportunity for these entrepreneurs to be recognized and supported”

The call for applications opens from 18 October-15 November, 2016.  Entrepreneurs with initiatives that use digital tools and technology to create social impact are encouraged to apply. More information about the competition can be found by visiting www.tigo.co.rw/digitalchangemakers.

Pierre Kayitana, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Tigo, said: “For this edition, we have put particular emphasis on selecting already existing tech solutions that have moved beyond the prototype stage. This way we are assured that our support will immediately impact the beneficiaries. 
I encourage all individuals who have identified a problem in society and have come up with an innovative solution to that problem to apply. “

The applicant must have a working product/project in place that aims to increase financial and/ or digital Inclusion, has social impact, is scalable, financially sustainable and system changing.

Louis Ngabonziza is empowering children with disabilities by providing them with formal education, technology and vocational skills.
Gaspard Twagirayezu runs an organization called Creation Hill that inspires Rwandan youth to become creators rather than just consumers of technology through schools tech fairs, techclubs and e-camp programs. They supported 840 children in 2015. Gaspard’s vision is to create a world where Africans are pioneering new technological solutions to national, regional and global problems
Yves Iradukunda runs Academic Bridge a program that empowers schools to efficiently collect and manage students’ information, the end goal being to ensure a successful education system for children where parents are fully involved in their child’s education and development. 4 schools already started using the system in 2015.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Territory Manager, the Area Supervisor will be responsible for maximization of the overall new activations and Product Distribution for your designed City / Market area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for stock management, cash collection and reconciliation of cash and stock on daily basis.
  • In order to achieve this objective your role demands you to recruit, train, coordinate and supervise a team of Freelancers and Point of Sales for the fulfilment of the monthly targets. You will be working closely with the Territory Managers accordingly.
  • Drive the team to perform Activation and Product Distribution KPI’s (100% achievement of weekly and monthly Activations Target)
  • Recruitment, training and coordination of Direct and Indirect Sales Channel
  • Always responsible for the high spirit of the team to lead and drive sales: Keep a compliant Sales Channel team; ensure Team Attendance to daily meetings, Procure Tigo Appealing “Young and Cool” personal presentation of each Freelancer.
  • As the eyes and hands-on member of the sales team, the Area Supervisor will collect experience and market knowledge and escalate it accordingly: (Weekly Key issues report, Monthly Market Report, Photo Journal).
  • Compliance withOperational Excellence initiatives and regulatory requirements(100% of the organization trained, 100% of regulatory compliance, Sales Activities reporting (activations, daily cash collection etc)
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or businessadministration
  •  At least one year work experience in relatedfield
  • You are open-minded, passionate and the way you work energizesothers.
  • Ability to engage in effective and persuasive negotiations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of cultures in a diverse community.
  • Understanding of The Telecommunications Sector

Tigo donates Mutelles de Sante to over 300 Huye residents in ‘Turahabaye’ campaign



On Saturday 1 October, as part of the ‘Turahabaye’ campaign Tigo Rwanda provided Mutuelles de Sante for 333 residents from Ngoma Sector, Huye District who were unable to afford health care. The handover of the medical insurance cards took place in the Centre de Sante Notre Dame de la Route, Matyazo. This  brings the number of Mutuelles de Sante cards distributed during the Turahabaye campaign to 743, after  410 were distributed in Musanze District on 24, September. 





This donation, worth Rwf 1 million, was preceded by a special Umuganda that Tigo participated in to celebrate the start of the Unity and Reconcliation Week in Umuyange Village in Karama Sector, Huye District.  



Turahabaye is a countrywide campaign to celebrate seven years of Tigo in Rwanda. Tigo first entered the Rwandan market in 2009; since then it has been transforming lives throughout the country by offering telecommunication and digital services to Rwandans.

The Turahabaye campaign, which commenced on 16, September in Rwamagana consists of free concerts, meetings with private and public sector partners and corporate responsibility initiatives.

Commenting on the donation, Tigo Rwanda Chief Commercial Officer, Yaw Ankoma Agyapong , who was representing the Chief Executive Officer, said “As a company working in Rwanda, we believe that it is our responsibility to take care of the most vulnerable among us and that is why we are very pleased to be able to ensure that over 700 vulnerable people now have access to health care. 

Speaking at a dinner that Tigo hosted for Southern Province private and public sector leaders on 30, September, the Governor of the Southern Province, Alphonse Munyentwari, thanked Tigo for investing in the country;
“Through Tigo, more Rwandans now are able to access mobile financial services and communication tools. This has led to job creation. We also appreciate the support that Tigo has given to women entrepreneurs as well as the poor. We urge Tigo to continue its good partnership with the Southern Province. On our part as the Southern Province leadership we promise to continue to provide a good business environment, most especially when it comes to security”



Following the donation of the Mutuelles de Sante cards, Tigo hosted a free concert for Huye residents at the Ngoma Sector grounds. Over jubilant 1,000 Huye residents were entertained by the Tigo Brand Ambassadors Bruce Melodie, Christopher and the Dream Boys. 



About Tigo Women Entrepreneurship Fund

Tigo Rwanda launched the Frw 50 million Tigo Women Entrepreneurship Fund in partnership with the National Women Council during the International Women’s Day celebrations in Butare Cell, Gasabo District on 8, March 2016.  The Fund is providing startup capital to more than 300 women from across the country to open mobile money businesses. On February 22, Tigo Rwanda signed the Connected Women Commitment Initiative during the GSMA Mobile World Congress Barcelona, Spain. The initiative aims to reduce the gender gap in mobile internet and mobile money services and empower all women and girls. The Tigo Women Entrepreneurship Fund is in line with Tigo’s commitment to increase the number of women using mobile financial services from 39 per cent today to 45 per cent by 2020.
