new subscribers joined Tigo Rwanda in the month of July 2017, bringing the
number of subscribers from 3,262,099 in June 2017 to
3,356,951 in July 2017.

According to figures released by the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory
Authority (RURA), among telecom operators Tigo Rwanda made the largest gains in
the month of July 2017 with subscriber numbers growing by 2.9% when compared to
June 2017 subscriber figures.
Due to the gains in subscribers, Tigo Rwanda now enjoys market share of
39.5%, up from 36.5% in December 2016.
Commenting on the gains, Philip Amoateng, Chief Executive Officer, Tigo
Rwanda, said, “Our positive subscriber growth is a testament to not only the
growth of customer confidence in the quality of the services we offer, such as
the fast data and Tigo Cash mobile financial services but also the highly
motivated sales and distribution team that we have on the ground. We are
working towards becoming the market leader by the end of 2017”.
